How We Rate Scripts
Whether you're starting a new Directory or revamping one that's been around awhile, choosing the right directory script or directory software for your needs can be a difficult and unforgiving process. - Does the directory software come with good documentation for the user? (Manual, tutorials, forum, etc.)
- Does the company offer meaningful technical support?

- Flexible category structure
- Extra functions such as emailer, newsletter, auto-thumbnailer

- Server and hosting limitations, if any
- Number of domains/subdomains allowed per license
- Refund policy
- Are other programs required to make the directory run?
- Number of available extensions and plugins
- Import/export tools
- Extra data such as categories or zip codes
- Source code availability
- Live demos of front-end and admin functions
- Support for articles
- Support for third-party maps
- Type of underlying code or platform, e.g. Joomla, PHP, etc.
